Con Thien, in Vietnamese, means “The Place Where Angels Dwell”. It’s also the name of the firebase where Scott Everton won the Navy Cross and lost his soul, forty years ago. Now a reclusive alcoholic, his life is changed when a small act of kindness opens the door for a very unusual angel to barge into his life. The angel is Jose Ruiz, a marine who fought in Iraq and who died before he could restore his marriage. Jose offers Scott a road out of loneliness – if Scott will only dare to dream, and to have faith.
